RECONSTRUCT aims to develop circular, eco-friendly, and innovative solutions to reduce emissions from the construction industry, by sourcing local alternatives to conventional steel and cement, applying reclaimed components and implementing design for disassembly and reuse.

Working with 23 partners across eight European countries, Drastic is a pioneering collaboration that aims transform the European built environment via a collection of circular, low carbon, affordable and innovative ‘Demonstrator’ pilot projects situated across Europe.

2024 - 2027

BIOBUILD aims to reduce up to 20% of energy demand in buildings. The project develops thermal solutions for energy efficiency in buildings using fully bio-based building materials. These novel materials are fully recycable and sustainable, driving a rapid transition towards decarbonisation across major industrial sectors.

BEST-CROP focuses on developing novel barley crops that deliver higher yields and produce straw tailored for advanced industrial applications, contributing to the bioeconomy and climate objectives.

REMEDIES focuses on three key pillars: monitoring and detection of plastic litter, collection and valorization, prevention and zero waste solutions. Aligning with allies, we address plastic pollution's impact on marine ecosystems.

BIOS MATER is a Horizon Europe project driving the shift to safe, circular, and low-carbon construction. We’re developing high-performance building materials from renewable sources, combining durability, safety, and sustainability.

INGUMA develops bio-based materials from agricultural residues and wood-processing by-products, including functionalised fibres, mycelium-based insulation, resin-free wood fibre insulation, bio-based adhesives, low-formaldehyde plywood, wooden sandwich panels, and plant-growing media. These materials are designed for applications such as insulation panels and vegetated roofs.
